Tamborine Mountain Botanic Gardens
Eleven hectares of native and exotic plants, arranged in themed gardens around a lake and looked after by volunteers. Entry is free and the gates are open every day from dawn to dusk.

The Tamborine Mountain Garden Club began planting here in 1983, and volunteers still run and maintain the place. Donations are welcome in boxes around the grounds.
Highlights include the Japanese Garden, Orchid House, Rose Garden and the lakeside area. There are also rhododendron, camellia, magnolia, bromeliad and hydrangea gardens, plus the White Flower Walk and Sooty Owl Walk.
Paths are mostly easy, with short distances between areas and signposts to steer you. The 150m Rainforest Walk is the most challenging section.
Dogs aren't allowed and there are no barbecues, so take your rubbish home. A covered pavilion and picnic tables make it a good lunch spot, and plants are for sale on Wednesday and Thursday mornings.
